Job Overview
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, entry to mid-level salaried position based in Portland, OR. This role is 100% in-person. The Digital Marketing team oversees social media, email campaigns, event/barista/organization sponsorships, content creation (photo, blog), product launches, copywriting/editing, merch, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.
As a Digital Content Creator, you will report to the Digital Marketing Manager. As part of the digital marketing team, you’ll be Acaia's public digital voice. You must possess excellent written English communication skills, as this serves as the primary mode of internal and external communication. The primary responsibilities will include developing and producing high-quality content for various platforms, as well as designing visuals, infographics, and graphics using tools like Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator. You will help manage Acaia’s social media profiles, sourcing, creating, and scheduling content, and executing Acaia’s social media strategy.
Responsibilities:

Develop engaging short-form video content optimized for Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms.

Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to produce professional-grade videos.

Assists with video production for various channels, such as YouTube, TikTok, and company websites.

Plan out and create content with the digital marketing team, such as social media, photography, videography, and newsletter issues.

Keep track of industry trends, people, and organizations, as well as digital marketing trends on an international level.

Manage file organization, backups, and media archiving for future content reuse.

Communicate across a globally distributed company and multiple departments as needed.

Learn and understand what goes into making each of our products, including but not limited to precision scales, grinders, and dosers.

Provide product feedback and testing as needed.

Assist with Acaia’s social media profiles as needed.

Ability to work independently and asynchronously.

Travel outside of Portland to work the Acaia booth at SCA’s Coffee Expo or other events (1-2 times annually). Events can last anywhere from two days to a full week. Acaia will cover travel expenses (flight, furnishings, etc.).

Maintain brand consistency across all content and platforms.

Work with the e-commerce team to coordinate marketing activities and initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:

At least 1 year of working in specialty coffee.

At least 1 year in a customer service role (within the same role is fine). For example, if you spent a year working as a specialty coffee barista who also interacted with the public, this would fulfill both requirements.

And/or at least 1 year in a photography role and/or video planning, filming, and editing role.

Experience in writing professionally: copywriting, editing, business writing, proper grammar, and familiarity with the English language. Please list if you are fluent in other languages. We do not require experience in copywriting, but your written English and grammar need to be great.

Familiarity with brand guidelines and the ability to apply them across marketing materials.

Experience working with designers to ensure brand consistency in campaigns.

Excellent organization skills: Time, digital files, and projects.

Enjoys working in a dynamic, multi-project environment: The DM team oversees many channels and aspects. You should be comfortable with participating in multiple projects.

Familiarity with how Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube work. While past management of business profiles is not required, you should recognize how a business would approach social media differently than an individual.

Empathy and critical thinking skills.
The tools you’ll use
We use the following tools: Sprout Social, Canva, ClickUp, Active Campaign, Zendesk, Dropbox, Airtable, Slack, Feedly, G-Suite, Grammarly, ToDoist, CapCut, Lightroom, and Spark email. If you are unfamiliar with these tools, we will provide training.

Compensation

Compensation will depend on experience and in what fields, with a base rate of $44,000.
