A nice upgrade, though screen esthetics feel backward.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
This is an upgrade from my much older scale, Acaia pearl, whose battery has degraded too much for my liking. For me, it functions identically, possibly a little bit better for the reaction times and how nicely it manages adding weight and small gradual increments. I also like that it came default with a soft beep rather than a loud beep like the original. The original, loud beep and silent were the only options, so I opted for silent. Only negative I found so far is I don’t like the LCD design layout. Instead of a nice clean straight up and down or right slanted display, it has a left slanted display, which looks awkward, and like it’s a second, like I purchased somebody’s mistake.

Pearl S Review
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
I purchased the Pearl S in 2022 and the scale itself has worked well. However, since 2024 the Bluetooth connectivity did not work meaning that it could not be updated or connect to any of the associated apps. I finally contacted customer service (my fault for waiting too long) and they responded promptly and politely; however, they could not provide any assistance other than telling me that the warranty was expired and to fix the motherboard I'd have to pay all duties and shipping costs as I'm located in Canada :( They suggested I could contact another company in Canada to see if they would give me a deal on a newer model. I'm just going to use the product with its flaw (the scale can still weigh and time the brew) and buy another competitor's product that will hopefully last longer without any issues.

Larger than expected. Unintuitive. Expensive. Good scale though.

So sensitive! It can measure the weight of a single coffee bean. I've yet to master all my key features, like pour rate and timer, but I'll give there.
