We’re back from Boston with a recap of our time at the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Expo 2019! This year was a busy event for us. We had two booths across the Expo, including one on the main exhibition floor and a booth in the Market Area. We also introduced new products to the public, such as our new Pearl S model. You can read more about that here. We ran two fun competitions over the three-day event at our market booth. We played host to some excellent booth partners, including roasters and volunteers who brewed and assisted.
Exhibit Booth
At our first booth in the main exhibition hall, we proved to be very busy over the event! We had a number of the Acaia team, several great volunteers, and nine different roasters and tea brewers who occupied the booth from the Friday to Sunday. We had the chance to demo our new product and app, the Pearl S and the Brewguide app for attendees. We also had our demo collaboration with Lyn Weber Workshops on the booth, the EG-1 Electrical Grinder, along with many products from our own line-up.
Market Booth
At our second booth, we had several great elements to offer to attendees. While having a calibration station for competitors, we also offered two chances to win great prizes from our range. Our first competition focused on our Pearl S models and our Brewmaster app. Anyone could come up and compete by attempting to as closely duplicate recipes set out by both roasters and volunteers who joined us over the weekend. Those who entered were in with a chance to win a brand new Pearl S model for the highest score.
Our second competition was a Guess the Weight competition, in which if the participant could guess the weight of the assorted candy in the jar closely as possible, they were in with the chance of winning a Pearl scale.
Congratulations to all our winners across the three days!
We saw some great new exciting products and coffees across many booths.

We were also delighted to have sponsored several satellite events and other sponsorships around Expo, including the Barista League’s Flavor Wheel Feud, The Chocolate Barista Party and the Ask Me About the Cost of Production event.
Thank you!
